The Tupperware Disappearance Act

You send a hearty portion of leftover brisket or homemade casserole to a neighbor, a potluck, or a family gathering, fully accepting that this specific piece of plastic Tupperware has crossed the permanent event horizon. The lid and the base are gone forever, joining a parallel dimension alongside missing socks, lost Bic pens, and every 10mm socket ever manufactured. Three months later, you see the neighbor walking their dog and briefly consider asking about the red rectangular container but realize it’s safer to just mourn the loss and buy another twenty-pack from Costco.
