I just read my story from last week. Geez, what a lot of drama! All about a couple of old people at the airport, losing stuff, forgetting stuff.
Well, not today friends. We’re so excited that our family is all in one state again! The Tampa people, three cars, five people and a big black dog made it home on Saturday. We were with them the whole way figuratively, that is. They set out on a Friday and made it to Baton Rouge, home in Friendswood, by 2pm on Saturday, safe and sound.
We had the beds made for them, thinking they might be arriving late. Instead, they were invited over to our son’s and daughter-in-law’s for dinner. It happened to be Matthew’s birthday, so what a wonderful reason to celebrate.
After church on Sunday, PawPaw and I drove up to their neck of the woods to take a few things and welcome them home. It’s been a long time comin’, but they’re finally here. Movers should be here from Tampa by next weekend, but I think they’re plenty comfortable as is. Knight, the big black dog, loves his new home too. He’s still timid about floors without carpet, but Kelly has provided a lot of rugs around the house for him to get around.
The piano is a hit, as we knew it would be. You may not remember my stories about the piano … It’s Jon Noreyko’s piano his wife, Kaye, donated to the church after Jon passed. It ended up sitting in the corner of the church with a couple of stuck keys. Long story, short, with Kaye’s permission, the church let us have it. It’s loved again by our Grands. Michael had only been in the house 5 minutes before he sat down to play the song he remembered, Stand By Me.
The boys are going to summer camps and hopefully will meet lots of new friends. Friends they’ll see again once school starts. Addyson is looking forward to going to OU in the Fall. Her roommate also lives in Friendswood; Aubrey came over on Saturday to welcome them home.
You may be wondering about Merry, our 5-month-old Golden Retriever. We went to visit Merry again last week at Summer Camp, only two and a half weeks and she’ll be ready to come home. She’s learned so much. Most importantly, she remembers us.

I guess it’s officially summer, Memorial Weekend was a bit wet, but I think our Bolivar visitors had a good time despite the conditions. We have a lot of summer left and lots of good times to come.
Until we meet again – Be safe, Enjoy!
