Our sweet girl, the Fur Baby, has turned her back on me. Now, when I mention Laundry, she runs the other way. She used to be my loyal partner when it came to laundry. She loved to chew on the dryer sheets I accidentally dropped. Nowadays, since we collapsed the kennel and stashed it up in the attic, the “spacious” laundry happens to be where we “stash” her when we have to leave her at home alone. We thought it would be a treat to not be stuck in a little kennel with no room to play or stretch out. She got the message and now hates to go near the laundry room.
We let her sleep in our room now too. Her Merry Bed is in there and we always make sure Cindy is there with her. This arrangement seems to be working out pretty well.

Well, except for this morning. It was about 5:05 am when she decided we should wake up. Actually, she probably wondered why PawPaw wasn’t awake yet, so she decided to take a flying leap up onto the bed on His side. He promptly directed her back to the floor. She won though because he relented and got out of bed to tend to their Morning Things. It’s not a surprise the things she gets away with, she’s so darned cute!

Last week was a pretty long week. This one will be the same. We’ve come off a couple of months’ worth of holidays, getting a Friday off or a Monday off. It’s a bit difficult to adjust, having to work a full 5 days in a row. I do indeed love those 3-day weekends. I love to go into town, I call if “Going All the Way.” My daughter asked where I would be going. So, I said, “where do you want to go?” She was going to a flea market in Alvin, so I told her I’d go back with her if it looked interesting. So, in the meantime, I went to Jack-in-the-Box, Dillards, Sam’s, UTMB Pharmacy, Dick’s, Target, Whataburger (for care package gift cards), HEB, then finally over to her house to return some stuff. This is my normal run-around on a Saturday. Below is a pic of me and Buddy.

So, there’s a little bit of what a retired (still working) Beach Bum does. Yep, it’s Life in the Fast Lane!
