Dash to the Finish: Registration Closing Soon for the Texas Crab Festival Wiener Dog Races!

There’s still a little time left to enter your precious, full blooded dachshund in this year’s 2026 Texas Crab Festival Wiener Dog Races! You have until Saturday, May 2, 2026 to registered. Just go to TexasCrabFestival.org/events/ to get registered. The Wiener Dog Races are on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM.

The crowds love the races and the dogs love the attention, and with cash prizes of $200 for 1st, $100 for 2nd and $50 for 3rd and some really cute trophies this year, that’s nothing to bark at.

Elinor Tinsley been a permanent Crystal Beach resident since April of 2017, after building her home with her husband, Pat Tinsley in 2011. Elinor has spent many years in service to others from Girl Scout leader to youth group leader to volunteering in many organizations, with the Bay Vue Methodist Church and the Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation being the two that she commits most of her time to.
