Captain Jeff Brandon Fishing Report

Surface water temperature is 82 degrees. Once again, this week we dealt with a good amount of wind, and we shifted our focus towards trout on the protected flats over shell, as well as Open Water Reefs when the wind would allow it. Active bait in the area is important, so if you don’t see bait or signs of life, don’t spend a whole lot of time in the area.

We are still using Marker 54 Imitation shrimp lures & tails under popping corks, with a 1-2 foot leader to trigger the most bites, as well as Deadly Dudley Rat Tails, and WacAttack Flukes with 1/8 oz heads.

For Redfish have been having our best luck in and around grass lines in a foot to 24″ of water, with indentations / drains /points being the most productive areas, in the back lakes.
