Throw Me Something Mister

First of all, let me tell you about the Wine Tasting event at Jose’s. The annual Bolivar Cultural Foundation event of the year was held at Jose’s. The wine guy, none other than Jose’s brother-in-law, Arnulfo Perez of Un Sueño Vineyard did the presentation. Fantastic wines provided, Jose laid out a wonderful food table and a whole additional table of desserts! Oh, my goodness, I’ll have to admit, my meal Wednesday night consisted of nothing but brownies, Marsha’s chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies so thick, they were closer to shortbread, and little individual cheesecakes. I didn’t get nearly enough, so I brought home a small plate of goodies piled high!

Saturday, Mardi Gras came to Crystal Beach! We all packed up to head over to grab a space on the highway near the Chamber to wait for the parade. Vicky, Cheryl, Rod and I packed snacks and beverages and comfy chairs and headed down the beach in our golf carts to Crystal Beach Road. We sat right across from Dennis & Elaine and all the Crystal Canal folks. Of course, we ventured over to their side every once in a while to grab some of their tables and tables of goodies. You can always depend on the CC folks to lay out a grand spread!

Sunday, church as usual and breakfast at ShyKatz. I’m not crazy about eggs of any kind lately, so my husband asked which sandwich I wanted, Star Drug Store or ShyKatz. The chicken sandwich won, so ShyKatz it was! It’s so big, I only eat half at the restaurant, I bring the other half home to take to work for lunch on Monday.

Home Depot after breakfast for YARD FOOD, you know, Bonus whatever to kill all the dollar weed, costs a fortune. But my main goal was to find some flowers to plant, all this dead not growing stuff around here is depressing! I went a little crazy, I’m not sure if I really needed all this, but oh well, I’m sure I’ll find a place for it all. We got home, and miracles upon miracles, there’s Izzy to begin cleaning out my gardens. What a welcome sight! (You know I couldn’t end my story without something about plants and gardens.)

And, you know what, I forgot to take the other half of my sandwich to work with me this morning … Guess what’s for lunch tomorrow?
