It’s a busy Birthday month for this family. We celebrated PawPaw’s Birthday this past week; Another trip around the sun for this young man. Last month, we went to Stingaree for my birthday, then last week, we celebrated at our favorite restaurant for his too. We were seated at a little table in the middle of the room. A couple at a table adjacent to us recognized us from The Crystal Beach Local News and greeted us. Not being able to hear them correctly, and not wanting to seem rude, I went over to their table. He and his wife commented on reading about our family and Fur Baby, Merry. Funny, he recognized us from the pictures in my articles in The Sand Bucket. Small world, huh? This is the very first time anything like this has happened. I guess someone reads my column.

Lots of stuff going on in the neighborhood. A Bikini Barrel Race up at Swede’s Park. No “bikinis,” but lots of barrel racing! There was the annual fishing tournament at Stingaree. You can read more about it in this edition.
We’ll be celebrating more birthdays later this week. Before they go on a cruise, The Sisters, Nora and Liz, are planning to come over for dinner to open presents. I hear we’re also opening Christmas presents … As it goes, I guess we never received Liz’s gifts at Christmas, so this is a dual event. It’s a typical Liz thing to do! I put together a casserole and put it in the freezer, so when I get home on Thursday, I can pop it in the oven. It’s necessary to plan out these things in advance. I’m hoping I’ll have time to bake a cake on Wednesday evening. I’m thinking it’s going to be a vanilla pound cake with chocolate glaze. I’ll let you know how that goes.
Plans to get together with our busy family are taking shape. With Leigh at their Wedding Venue, Kel at kids’ baseball and football games and The Osten’s doing golf tournaments, baseball or swim meets with The Littles, it’s not always easy to plan an outing. Way to go PawPaw, spreading out your birthday a whole month!
Oh, and Pierce, our 12-year-old grandson, came in second place in his golf tournament. With his dad in London on business (sounds like a Boondoggle to me), Pierce’s Mom was recruited to be his caddie. Oh, What a treat! I think we have another “Tiger” in the making. I’ll be sure to let y’all know when he turns pro. Maybe Mom will still be his caddie. Now, wouldn’t that be original!?!
