Next Stop  – OU

Here we are in Tampa, arrived early on Saturday morning. The flight was delightful, even though it was only 5am. Southwest has assigned seats now, so when we got to our seats (me in the middle), next to me was a young woman with her not too happy 3-month old. I secretly cringed, but after a few minutes, all I wanted to do was reach out to help the Mom with her squirmy little precious package.

Tried to sleep, but it’s only a 2-hour trip. Tampa is a wonderful airport, if any airport can be wonderful. We made our way to Hertz where the clerk scared us into buying insurance in case of an accident. We chose a cute little Chevy Blazer because I figured it would be similar to my personal vehicle’s bells and whistles.

We were told to come to our family’s home which is only 10-15 minutes away from the airport. Oh, how wonderful to be around family again. This is the family who will move back to Texas in less than 3 weeks. Quick visit at their home, then off to the Air BnB. We were only there for an hour or so before the San Antonio family arrived, then the League City folks with the Friendswood folks. A six-bedroom home with a pool, typical Florida layout. That evening we had burgers and began decorating the house for Addyson’s Graduation party. Camber began creating her balloon art, lost count of all the balloons.

Saturday morning, lots of shopping, more decorating. Hey, there’s a bagel shop! So, we brought bagels back to the house for all.

The party began around 4, 20-30 girls began showing up. Addyson had set up a little craft area for all to decorate according to the college they planned to attend. Here’s Addyson’s.

Baccalaureate mass was Monday and graduation is today. Then, Wednesday, we head on back to the beach.

I heard Jeep Weekend was uneventful and there were not a lot of EMS calls. I know the State Troopers and all the available police were thick as fleas. I think they arrived on scene as early as Wednesday of last week.

Thank you to all First Responders, you are greatly appreciated.
