Hurricane Kelly Anne

The long-anticipated weekend finally happened. She’s been on pins and needles about her trip to Texas to work on her new house. Move-In is about a month away now. The Tampa family intends on leaving when the oldest graduates from high school in May.

Our son-in-law was here last week; he went home on Thursday and Kel left on Friday. Ships passing in the night! I picked up Kelly at 7am from the airport and we met Leigh at Red Oak for breakfast.

After a lovely breakfast and a much-needed visit, Leigh had an appointment to meet with her realtor then off to her wedding/quinceanera venue in Conroe. The celebration Saturday night was actually a Senior Prom – in excess of !50 kids and chaperones of course …

Last Thursday was Merry’s 3rd round of shots. She’s free to socialize now. We’re still being extra careful with her, but Thursday evening PawPaw was finally able to let her walk on the beach and test the water if she wanted to. Well, she was very cautious of the water, waves rushing in were not high on her list of new things. But it did accomplish a welcome outcome, it managed to tire her out.

Kelly and I were on a major shopping extravaganza that occupied all of our Friday and most of the day on Saturday. Later, on Saturday, PawPaw joined us and brought who else but Merry.

Merry fell in love with Kelly of course. Kelly and PawPaw enticed Merry to get in the swimming pool. She is, after all, a water dog.

Result – One exhausted pup! So, we decided it would be a great time to head off to Gringo’s, the most popular restaurant in Friendswood/Pearland. A 30-minute wait, but well worth the wait. And, no, Kel and I didn’t want, much less need, a soft-serve ice cream cone at the end.

Sunday morning and Kel’s flight was early, so PawPaw took her to the airport and Merry and I headed back to the beach. What a wonderful jam-packed weekend!

Merry are we home yet

Are we home yet?
