Go Sooners!

Surprise Surprise! Our Granddaughter asked if she could come visit. Well, of course! She said she wanted to bring her Roommate-to-be. She wanted to show Aubrey how special the beach is and she wanted to share all the fun things and places she grew up with.

When Addyson decided on Oklahoma University after visiting Oklahoma State University, several Texas colleges and some in Colorado, and especially moving with family back to Texas from Florida, she began reaching out to find who else might be planning to attend OU. It didn’t take her long to find a young lady right in the neighborhood. Addyson and family moved to Friendswood in June and found Aubrey who lives in Pearland. The girls have bonded and are planning to be roommates at OU in just a few short weeks.

I believe they’ve had a grand time during their little visit to the beach; they certainly seem compatible. I know it’s a bit slower pace here at the beach, but they managed to keep themselves busy. The beach, the pool, cruising in the golf cart, you name it! Addyson taught her friend the Marble Game and Aubrey won right off the bat. It always happens – Beginner’s Luck! We managed to get in a few games last night – PawPaw won both!

Then, there’s Merry. She was so excited that somebody came to visit her. Bonus – she brought a friend. I had to show Addyson Merry’s new trick since she was here last.

And she realized she could jump up on the bed. Not just physically, but she’s allowed. That’s become her favorite hangout. She knows when to get down at bedtime. When I’m finished reading and turn my light off, that’s her clue to vacate.

Still no luck with the beach though. Loves walks and loves the golf cart, loves water, but no way is she going to get in the Gulf. Her pool and her water bowls are another story.
