Double the Fun

Nothing like a pair of 9-year-olds to brighten your life. Riggs and Fisher joined us for the weekend. Yes, they’re twins, but they look nothing alike and have totally different personalities.

The last hurrah before school starts. They’ve been flitting around the country all summer, so this was our turn! Early summer they went on their family outing to Colorado where they stayed for a month. Back to Texas for a bit, then off to Florida for family vacation with all the Oklahoma crew.

Oh, they love the beach! Their favorite spot is the washout, but no water this time of year. Grandma bought new boogie boards, that provided hours of entertainment. Of course, the pool is right there whenever they get the notion. Driving the golf cart in the yard happens to be a great pastime. I believe all the grands have gotten their first taste of driving by golf cart rides all over these three lots.

Not much indoor time, except for when it was time for breakfast, lunch or dinner. But after a meal, the marble game was handy, and they would go through a couple of games in a row before heading outside again for more exuberant activities.

We used to go through a red Jello phase when they were younger. In fact, so young PawPaw would have to feed them their Jello. Nowadays, and every night for that fact, it’s Blue Bell Ice Cream with lots of chocolate syrup and chocolate chips. We always stock up on ice cream whenever any of the Grands are expected.

They get to sleep up in the loft now that they’re older. All the Grands love the loft!

Speaking of, I haven’t been up there since they left. Kinda scared to be honest.
