One of our most favorite things to do in the evening. That’s when PawPaw decides he’s done doing whatever downstairs and it’s time to have a beer, sometimes two! Merry joins us if we can coax her out of the A/C for a while. This is when we usually discuss important stuff and try to keep Merry from gnawing on one of the deck chairs. She’s basically going after the knot holes which she will eventually succeed in breaking one loose. Oh, that girl! She’s still a handful. But we love her.
Merry has discovered that she can jump. She loves to lie on the couch or on the bed.

The other day, I filled her swimming pool out in the yard in a patch of dead grass. I figured when she was through, I’d drain it all over the dead grass, we need some rain desperately. Merry wouldn’t have anything to do with it out there in the sun like that! So I dumped the water and set up the pool on the concrete under the house. Ah, that was perfect!

In the evening, she loves to snuggle with PawPaw. He gets down on the floor with her, it’s the getting up that’s a little more difficult …

Just a few more about Merry, then I’ll try to think of something else to talk about.
This is Merry on the coffee table when we’re watching a TV show. When Wheel of Fortune is on, she watches TV with us.

The other day, Merry came to work with me. Just the regular crew she loves, Kyle and Josh. I usually keep her shut up in my office, but that day, Josh asked if Merry could hang out with him. He threw the tennis ball up and down the long hallway from the front door to the kitchen. Merry had free reign of the fire station. She came out of Kyle’s room a couple of times with his socks. Kyle was sleeping, late night I guess. I threw the socks back in Kyle’s room and closed his door. She decided to go ahead and take a nap on the cold floor just outside my office.

That’s all I have today.
Hoping we have a real gully washer today! The slough is bone dry and our grass is cooked. Fox News came out on Monday to interview my boss about The Storm! Oh, such hype, it really makes me chuckle. As I was leaving work on Monday after his interview, he said, “Don’t forget to get your raincoat ready.” Aye, Aye Chief!
