Just about every evening, before Wheel of Fortune, that’s where you’ll find us. The passers-by have gotten used to looking up as they cruise up our road. They’ll wave; we always wave back.
This is our time to talk about all the important goings on in our lives. Family, upcoming events, paying off the house, our dog, Merry, our departed pets, Maezy and Ruby. You name it, we always have something interesting to discuss.
Lately, we just watch the show! The hummingbirds have arrived. It’s been a weird summer if you ask me. My little friends normally arrive in the “A” months: April and August. This year, I don’t remember any in April and it wasn’t until the middle of September when we began seeing them. I’m sure there’s some logical scientific reason why. I’m just so happy they’re around again.
We put another feeder on a post in the middle of our deck, right in front of the chairs we always sit on. The feeder in front of us must be their favorite. I’ve had to refill it every day for the past 4 days. It’s drained daily. These tiny creatures are so full of energy, their antics, their buzzing wings and little chirps are so endearing.

The charts I’ve seen indicate they’ll be around still in October. We’ll keep feeding them as long as they stay around. They’re such a welcome treat to watch during the late to early evening.
