The Texas Crab Festival luncheon honoring the 2026 festival committee captains was held at Margaritaville on Friday. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to the leaders who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to turn this year’s festival into a huge success.
Mark DeSantis, President of Bolivar Peninsula Charities, took the stage to express his gratitude to all the volunteers and participants. He emphasized the significant impact that their efforts have on the community, noting that the funds raised through the festival and various donations are reinvested locally to support numerous community initiatives and projects. “Your participation and dedication are what make the Texas Crab Festival not just a fun event, but a meaningful one that benefits us all,” DeSantis stated.

Following his remarks, DeSantis introduced the board of directors, including the three newest members, Kim Young, Bradley O’Dell, and Shauna King, highlighting their commitment to ensuring the festival’s continued success and growth.

The highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of the Osten/Rollfing Legacy Award. Each group leader took the stage to recognize an exceptional member of their respective teams. These awards served as a formal acknowledgment of those who went above and beyond during the 2026 season.
Each plaque was inscribed with the following sentiment:
