Captain Jeff Brandon Fishing Report

Surface water temperature is 75 degrees. We once again started out fishing shoreline shell beds for Trout and Redfish before daylight. We have been using light colored paddle tails with 1/8 oz heads, as well as under a popping cork with a 12” leader.

The topwater bite has picked up for us, as well as the suspending jerkbait bite, so if you like those techniques, now is the time to get on the water and make it happen. We have had some good success fishing rocks in the intracoastal, as well as grass lines with drains, and windblown points when the conditions line up.

We have also had some good days catching specks, sand trout, and some huge Reds on open water reefs, when the wind has worked in our favor throwing Deadly Dudley Tails with ¼ oz heads. We have also found a some slot and Bull Reds pushing shrimp down the grass lines, with the recent high tides and good tidal movement of late.

The crowds have thinned and the weather is getting right, so now is the time to book your fall and winter trips and get out and enjoy all the upper Texas Coast has to offer.
