As the World Turns

With eight grands, there’s never a dull moment. We have them stretched out from 9-years-old to mid-twenties. We’re about to embark on another school year, it won’t be long now. Our two oldest are grown, graduated, one is married and the other just living it up! Both are employed and doing quite well, one in Dallas, the other in Laramie, Wyoming.

The only granddaughter just went off to OU. Yes, she’s a long way from home, it could’ve been longer, we have no complaints. Her Mom and Aunt, a graduate of OSU, flew to Norman on Saturday to be “moral support” to Addyson as she went through the final stages of Rush Week. My goodness, what a project. With over a thousand girls pledging to 11 different sororities, this process has taken a toll on our sanity and endurance. Interview after interview. By last Friday night, Addyson was down to two sororities, on Saturday, she went back to these two for yet another interview. It all boiled down to a bid, an invitation to join one of her top two. The bid was promised to be delivered to her dorm room by 4pm on Sunday. We were on pins and needles. By about 4:15, I couldn’t stand it any longer. I texted “Well???”

About 4:45, Aunt Camber group texted about 15 or 20 of us “We have a Kappa Alpha Theta in the family!!” Oh, Hallelujah!

Her three roommates found their new homes as well; I can’t wait to talk with Mom to find out where they ended up.

We’re so proud of our girl.

Addyson proclaimed, “I just love college!”
