The impending weather didn’t frighten everyone away, It scared a few to bump up their starting times though. The Senorita Putt Putt was postponed, unknown to me when that might happen, but The Big Store went ahead and upped their starting time to 4 to hopefully miss the downpour.
I made it up there a bit after 5pm and went directly to see all our EMS and Fire Fighter’s set ups. They’re always represented well at the beginning of the layout.
Lo and behold, our very own Wheel Coach won first place in the Trunk or Treat decoration contest! Dawn, you hit it outta the park with your trusty sidekick, Riker! Riker, Dawn’s son, was out of school on Friday (High Island), so the two came up to Crystal Beach Station. They spent the entire day out there in the heat decorating the Wheel Coach, pulling all the props from the back of Dawn’s SUV.
I’m sure they’ll be set up for our Boo Fest this Friday, Halloween night! Beware of one particular EMS medic, who will be going around with his skeleton snake, he’s quite harmless, just more annoying than anything else. Just slap him away, that’s what I’ll do.
Melissa has been planning for the Haunted House; you can’t miss it! Don’t be scared! I say, “don’t be scared,” but all these props are set up in the station as we speak, and I have to pass by them on my way to the restroom or the kitchen daily. If you don’t see me on Friday night, one of those ghouls has grabbed me in the meantime.
Oh, my goodness, just wait til Christmas. We’re ordering more candy, we’re sure to run out this weekend!
Dawn’s ideas for the Wheel Coach for Christmas are going to blow your socks off! I know, that’s a way off, but stay tuned.
