Try New Things

Some things don’t take any coaxing, like the new Blue Bell ice cream that just came out – Pecan Pie! Oh my gosh, I forget where I saw it advertised, probably Facebook. I was so sure The Big Store wouldn’t carry it because it was so new, but lo and behold, they had some. This was on Saturday. I had to go get something else on Sunday because I didn’t go into town to shop this past weekend. Just thought I’d check, maybe pick up another pint, but they were sold out. The Orange Swirl caught my eye, so I grabbed a pint of it. They’re both fantastic, you’ve gotta try it.

GO Sand Bucket Blue Bell

I guess we tried another “new thing” this weekend, Trade Days at Winnie. Not exactly new, we probably went 10 or 15 years ago. Quite interesting I might say. Will I ever go back, probably not, but we did run across a few things that interested us. Strolling around, I spotted a pickle place, I inched on up to the window to look inside and I was face-to-face with their pit bull. He looked at me uncertainly and I got these cold chills up and down my spine. I couldn’t go in. I just knew he’d smell fear all over me and I’d be lunch!

I’m addicted to pickles. My pickle guy from the Crab Festival has spoiled me. Jimmy Jams, you’ll have to come shop with him next Crab Festival.

Speaking of the Crab Festival, in 2026, it’s still happening around Mother’s Day, but not on Sunday, Mother’s Day. It’s still going to be a 3-day festival, only now, it’s Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Our vendors are excited about the change, hope you are too.

That’s all I’ve got for now folks. Go try those Blue Bell ice creams, I think the Blue Bell truck restocked yesterday.
