You’ll get it, stay tuned.
I know, it’s been a slow winter. Other than playing in the Super Bowl last weekend, my days are kinda quiet. Speaking of the Super Bowl, thank you to Becky from Louisiana who commented on my story last week. It warms my heart to hear you read my mundane stories week after week and that you took the time to write such a sweet note.
I should have something new to report after this weekend, we’re planning a trip to Florida to see our grandson’s confirmation. Can you see the pride emanating from my Sand Bucket? This is the kid who most recently was accepted into Tampa Catholic High School.
Finally, gave up on the hair “growing longer.” Never a good idea, I don’t know why I try it again and again. Now, I’m back to the short haircuts and even went back a week later to get it cut shorter. I wrote to my daughter in Tampa, “is it acceptable to wear white pants in February in Florida?” Trying to figure out packing light and what to wear for the ceremony. They’ve been to the pool lately to lay out, getting a tan – such nonsense! Nevertheless, I’m packing a sweatshirt to take, probably wearing it on the plane.
Hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day. I took my Valentine out to dinner last Friday night. Here we are.
Hoping this next cold front doesn’t kill all the stuff I cut back and the plumerias I re-planted. Don’t throw this back in my face, but I’m looking forward to a little warm up! Just remind me about July & August when I’m complaining how hot it is!
I guess I’ll sign off for now. As Roy would say to Dale, or Trigger – Happy Trails to You, Until We Meet Again.

Wow….was I surprised to see my name in your column! Your stories aren’t mundane, and I enjoy them each week. Enjoy your Florida trip and try to bring some slightly warmer weather back with you. Our windchill forecast for Thursday morning in Bossier City is 5!!!

February 19, 2025 at 6:59 amGood Morning Becky!
We just got a call from our daughter in Tampa telling us they’re getting a cold front (high in the 60’s)! I’m giggling. Here in Crystal Beach, we’re expecting another freeze. I mentioned I’d be bringing a sweatshirt anyway, probably a jacket now too. When they pick us up from the airport, we’re going to a grandson’s track meet and on Saturday, we’re going to another grandson’s baseball game. It’s always a thrill to visit Florida & especially the kids! I used to live in Tampa when I was 9 years old, my house was right down the street from their school, Holy Names Academy.
Stay warm Becky!
