Thank You Crenshaw and High Island Teachers and Staff

By Linda Elissalde
May 5 through May 9, 2025 was Texas Teacher Appreciation Week. Bay Vue Methodist Women (BMW) and volunteers expressed gratitude to Crenshaw Elementary-Middle School and High Island Independent School District teachers and staff with special luncheons. BMW President Elinor Tinsley along with Jane Loose, Linda Chesser, Elaine Rollfing, Queen Royce Galbreath, Amy Lail, Marsha Fredenberg, Rita Moseley, Linda C Elissalde, Pastor Valerie Hudson, Jo Evans and Sandi Covington provided a plethora of tasty salads, sandwiches, casseroles, dips and premier desserts as thank you gifts. “We look forward to this day every year,” was expressed by happy recipients as they entered dining areas.

We are indeed grateful to administers and personnel at our schools. They create safe, happy and productive environments for area youth. These are the folk who help students achieve their highest goals while meeting the needs of every pupil be it academic, artistic or physical. We are fortunate to have you talented people training our future leaders.

It is all together fitting to pay homage to these exceptional pubic school educators who give of their time and talents. BMW and our community take this moment to state, “THANK YOU TO CRENSHAW AND HIGH ISLAND TEACHERS AND STAFF!”

I was born on February 14, 1941 into a family of writers. Schmuckers took pen in hand for thank you notes, news articles, lessons, plays, poetry, birthdays, eulogies, etc. Aquarius prediction in my diary stated, “Has some writing abilities, but too superficial to be important”. Thanks to all who accept my compositions anyway. I come from a family of writers.
