Shout Out to 2025 Texas Crab Festival

We started out a bit wet, but we shook off the drops and came out sparkling. 25 bails of hay and several sheets of plywood and everyone was high and dry again. A slight cold front rolled in on Saturday along with some sunshine and fresh breezes to help us dry out.

Cheers to the whole Texas Crab Festival Family! All it takes is teamwork and we have the best!

Talk about Family, here’s all the Osten siblings, still going strong, and ever so helpful! We couldn’t do it without you all!

Thank you to all the Crab Fest supporters, like this dynamic duo. Another year, another great festival.

All our vendors rolled in, and everyone was set up by 4pm on Friday to Get This Party Started.

My vendor sidekicks were in place, my faithful team, I can’t thank you enough! There was Donna, Goat Nanny, to get the Silent Auction set up. My new sidekicks, Sue & Brian, what an energetic duo. They assisted my Bros, Chris & Bill, getting all the vendors in their proper places. Sue introduced herself around to all the vendors, she’s Georgia Part Two. And of course, my ever-faithful companion, Terrie. What would I do without Terrie and her cunning technical brain power?!?

Saturday, we were slammed. Locals showing up for the day at the ticket booth, recognizing the endless lines of festivalgoers, donned aprons to help out selling tickets. In no time at all they knocked it out and we were smooth sailing again.

By noon on Saturday, I had already spent a fortune vendor-shopping. The vendors were having a blast. We’re so proud to humbly mention that we think our vendors are the reason why 90% of our festival attendance is because of our vendors. Just saying!

Saturday evening ended a bit bittersweet for me and several who knew her. Our forever vendor, a very special friend and an excellent artist, Patty Hagstrom, went to be with her maker. Patricia Hagstrom, long time resident of Crystal Beach, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Patty’s booth in The Big Tent went empty this year for the first time I can ever remember. She, reluctantly, cancelled on Thursday before the festival due to a recurring heart problem. Patty, you’ll remain in our hearts forever. R.I.P.

Sunday brought more sunshine and a great crowd. The Hispanic music kept us all entertained with some lively LOUD music.

More shopping for me – Brian – Daze Décor, with my outdoor furniture made a killing especially with me. He promised to have my chairs ready and delivered in about two weeks. What with the Scavenger Hunt, Washer, Horse Shoes & Corn Hole tournaments, everyone made a little extra $$’s.

Thanks to all for coming out. Hope you had a great time! I know I did!
