The Nauti Beaver Hut was packed to the rafters on Thursday night as excitement filled the air for the finale of the Queen of Hearts contest. By 4:30, eager attendees began arriving to claim the best seats, and by 5:30, it was standing-room-only. The energy was palpable as everyone anticipated not just the conclusion of the contest but also the highly anticipated drawing for the 2025 RAM Truck and> Polaris side-by-side.
Volunteers from the three local volunteer fire departments worked tirelessly to sell tickets, and the community showed up in full force. Between 6:30 and 8:30, an impressive $34,000 worth of tickets were purchased, building the suspense for the 9:00 drawing.
Promptly at 9, the spotlight shifted to center stage as the big ticket drum was brought forward. One by one, ticket holders approached to draw an envelope containing a card, continuing the search for the elusive Queen of Hearts. With 21 cards already revealed in prior weeks, the odds narrowed as the drum spun.
The tension mounted with successive draws, as the Jack of Hearts and King of Hearts made dramatic appearances. Then, on the eighth draw, Brad Olson from Alvarado, Texas, held the winning ticket. As the crowd held their breath, Olson confidently chose envelope #43—and there it was: the Queen of Hearts!
With the Queen revealed, the prizes rolled out. After awarding the RAM Truck and Polaris side-by-side, the remaining funds were donated to the three volunteer fire departments and Eagles Aerie 3719. Each organization received a check for just over $17,000, a testament to the community’s generosity and the event’s success.
