MARSHA NULL FREDENBURG PERSON OF THE YEAR, 2026

“If not me, then who?”

By Linda Elissalde
Marsha Null Fredenburg received a standing ovation when Pastor Valerie Hudson announced Marsha as the Bay Vue Methodist Church 2026 Person of the Year. It was certainly a well-deserved honor. Marsha’s faith and service to church, family, community and friends is beyond compare. She brings enthusiasm and joy to all her endeavors.

This retired schoolteacher’s list of accomplishments are too long for a news article. However, here are some of her multiple contributions. Marsha is Chairperson of Bay Vue Church Council, leader of a church food group, plays in the Bell/Chime Choir, assist with monthly Communion Service, changes the outdoor church sign, helps the Worship Group decorate the church, is a member of the Pastor Search Committee and adds delicious sweets to the annual Bay Vue Bake Sale. Marsha welcomes attendees at church and invites everyone she meets to come visit Bay Vue.

Talented Marsha and husband Moody Fredenburg always delight the audience when they step out on a dance floor. She is a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Moody, family and friends were there to cheer for her when she was a contestant in the Senior Ms. Bolivar Peninsula Contest. She was voted Mrs. Congeniality by the other contestants because she helped everyone and made the event even more fun.

I must add a personal note that Marsha is very talented in the acting arena. As a member of The Way Off Broadway Ensemble Players, she has served as stage manager, costumes director and was excellent as a flagpole in Mother of Texas Jane Long productions. Not many folk can play the part of a flagpole.

When Marsha was asked why she did so much her reply was, “I do what I do because I love our church and the people in it. When I heard Pastor remark in a sermon, ‘If not me, then who?’ I took that to heart. It is my motto”

She lives her motto and faithfully serves her church, her family, her friends and her community. Marsha Null Fredenburg well deserves Bay Vue Church’s PERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD.

I was born on February 14, 1941 into a family of writers. Schmuckers took pen in hand for thank you notes, news articles, lessons, plays, poetry, birthdays, eulogies, etc. Aquarius prediction in my diary stated, “Has some writing abilities, but too superficial to be important”. Thanks to all who accept my compositions anyway. I come from a family of writers.
