IN GRATITUDE Crenshaw School Thanks Volunteers.

By Linda Elissalde
Crenshaw Environmental Science Magnet School is one of the finest examples of learning in Texas. Their mission statement proclaims: Provide students with challenging coursework and experiential environmental studies to prepare them for success in higher education and the workplace. Faculty and staff are outstanding. Principal Traci Camp proudly states that this is, “The BEST little school in Texas!”

That great faculty and staff also happen to be excellent chiefs. In gratitude they honored volunteer helpers with a Michelin 5 star meal cooked by Crenshaw employees. Appetizers, salads, soup, casseroles and various dishes were quickly consumed by happy attendees. Of course, there were yummy desserts. Principal Camp and Counselor Roz Faulhaber refilled drinks and helped serve happy diners.

Crenshaw’s magnificent Library was the setting for such a fun event. I love libraries, and this one is a joy to visit. I wanted to grab a book and sit in their comfortable reading area. I might visit one day just to read there.

The guests did not want to leave, but schools do have schedules to follow. Everyone had such a grand time. Honorees left feeling in gratitude to Crenshaw Environmental Science Magnet School faculty and staff for their wonderful lunch given IN GRATITUDE.

I was born on February 14, 1941 into a family of writers. Schmuckers took pen in hand for thank you notes, news articles, lessons, plays, poetry, birthdays, eulogies, etc. Aquarius prediction in my diary stated, “Has some writing abilities, but too superficial to be important”. Thanks to all who accept my compositions anyway. I come from a family of writers.
