Scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, this popular tradition invites you to a day of sun, salt air, and friendly competition. Whether you’re a full-time resident or a weekend beachcomber, it’s the ultimate way to experience the spirit of Bolivar.
How the Run Works
The Poker Run is less about speed and more about strategy and style. Participants are led on a designated route across the peninsula.
- Collect Your Cards: At each stop, you’ll draw a poker card to build your hand.
- The Showdown: By the end of the run, the player with the best poker hand takes home the top prize and ultimate bragging rights.
- Awards: It’s not just about the cards—awards will also be handed out for the best-decorated carts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place), so don’t hold back on the glitter and palm fronds!
A Day of Enjoyment with a Purpose
While the laughter and the coastal breeze are the main attractions, the heart of this event is its mission. The Golf Cart Poker Run is a day of enjoyment with a purpose, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting our local community heroes.
The funds raised provide support for:
- Local Schools: Including High Island and Crenshaw Schools, helping purchase everything from classroom technology to art supplies.
- Volunteer Fire Departments: Assisting our brave first responders in Port Bolivar, Crystal Beach, and High Island with life-saving equipment and training.
