Bunnie Meyer just had a birthday. Beautiful, talented Bunnie was joined by charming husband Chris in celebrating this most auspicious occasion. Friends from Bay Vue Methodist and Club Sea Spray (Don’t ask.) created a most delightful atmosphere. Jose’s Cantina served as a wonderful location for the occasion. Director Kaylie and crew managed a fantastic job of getting tables arranged, menus, silverware, napkins, chips and dips at the ready. Drink orders, food orders and delivery of said items were all handled with quiet efficiency.
Then time arrived for Birthday Cake with candles. Oops! The lighted candles stood at 56. However, it does seem that this lady was actually 65. The candles were rearranged. Bunnie was serenaded with Happy Birthday twice. She also had to blow out her candles twice. Rita Moseley carefully sliced up the chocolate cake. Everyone dug right into this yummy, gooey confection. Thanks to Rita’s skill there were enough pieces for all, enough to take home to those who could not attend, and a little left for our wonderful servers.
Bunnie finally opened her many gifts and cards. Her first gift actually arrived the day before when she went on a fishing expedition. Bunnie made her first cast, felt a big tug and reeled in a 35in. Red Snapper. Way to go, Bunnie! She graciously showered everyone at her party with outburst of happiness and gratitude for all the presents. As all happy events do, the party came to an end. Guests helped load up all her munificent bounty.
Age really did not matter. The always youthful Bunnie Meyer is lovely whether 56 or 65!
