BPCF plus SECOND GOING RESALE STORE equals STYLE!

By Linda Elissalde
Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation (BPCF) and Second Going Resale Store help our peninsula in so many ways. Both gift our area with funds for students’ education, preservation of history and cultural and provide for those in need. When you add the two together, something remarkable is the sum. BPCF hosted a style show at their last meeting for 2024.

As always Jose’s Cantina served great food and provided an excellent venue. There was a table covered with delectable homemade desserts by members. Special prizes from BPCF were given at the closing. The organization held a short meeting to introduce officers for the coming year. President Vicky Norris, Vice President Ange Scheibel, Secretary Sandi Covington, Treasurer/Membership Elinor Tinsley, Assistant Publicist Marsha Fredenburg, Advisor, Sherry Morgan and Artistic Director, Linda Chesser will helm for 2025. Treasurer Tinsley reported on funds used to help different community needs.

Second Going is headed by President Fran Griffin, Vice President Jane Loose, Secretary Paula Alam and Treasurer Esther Sarabia. WOW! What a show that shop presented. Models paraded a plethora of choices that can be found in this resale store. They certainly outshone anyone seen on the runways of Versace, Chanel or Saint Laurent. Whether it was for a night on the town, athletic events, day clothes or something to snooze in on Christmas Eve, this eclectic group showed style modeling all the styles. Elinor and Pat Tinsley, Marsha Fredenburg, Queen Royce Galbreath (two outfits), Amy Lail, Bob Hibbard, Sandi Covington, Ange Scheibel, Rod Tweet, Cheryl Tweet, Susan Ramsey, Denise Boyd, Bunnie Meyer, Jo Evans, Bob Morgan, Theresa Close, Amy Maxwell Chase, Victoria Norris, and Traci Camp modeled with pazzaz and personality. Presenters did not just stroll. They strutted; they danced; they sparkled; they twirled and each one added their own personality to their presentation. Thunderous applause rewarded every person. Then all returned for a rousing finale. What a success!

How do I know that this was such a successful event? I had the honor of serving as Mistress of Ceremonies (MC) and stood in the best spot to view everything that was happening. I can promise you the sum of BPCF plus SECOND GOING RESALE STORE definitely equal STYLE!
