BPCF and the Eagles present Dr. Ron Chesser

If you weren’t lucky enough to attend Dr. Ron Chesser’s talk on the “Cause and Aftermath of the Chernobyl Explosion’ last summer then get ready for another chance to hear Dr. Chesser give a talk on his personal experiences with “Dismantling Iraq’s Nuclear Infrastructure”. Join us on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, to hear this quiet and unassuming man entertain you with his quick wit and vast knowledge about this project along with many other areas of expertise. With degrees from Oklahoma University, Memphis State University and his PhD from Oklahoma University, Dr. Chesser is one of the smartest men we know and has received many awards over the years as a professor at University of Georgia, professor at Texas Tech, publisher of over 150 scientific manuscripts and several distinguished Alumnus Awards, just to name a few of his accolades.

Dr. Chesser will be talking about his involvement with the dismantling process of Iraq’s nuclear infrastructure. He spent 8 years working with the US Department of State to work with the newly formed Government of Iraq to inspect and help dismantle all of its former nuclear and uranium enrichment facilities and to retrain former WMD scientists. He also built an operating analytical lab in Iraq. We don’t want to tell you too much about his talk because we want to see you in person.

The Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation would love for you to come join us as we listen to this animated speaker and enjoy some great food provided by the Cultural Foundation in the Eagles great space, the Coghlan Community Center, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 5:30 PM. We will have light for d’oeuvres, desserts, and water or tea available. We will also draw for two great door prizes. The cost is $5 for BPCF members and $10 for non-members which helps us offset the cost of this event. You can pre-pay to get in the shorter check-in line if you would like or you may pay at the door. Check the flyer for more information. We hope to see you there.

I enjoyed Dr. Chesser’s presentation last summer and look forward to this one. Who knew that this quiet, intelligent gentleman could make a subject so interesting, entertaining, and have us all asking questions? I agree with Elinor. You do not want to miss this lecture.
