Nothing like a little ice storm to keep us indoors and out of trouble. Right? Sure did the trick for me. After our quick trip on Saturday to get some more stuff over to the Friendswood house, we made a quick dash back home to hopefully beat the freezing temps. I take that back, first we, I, made a quick run through Kroger. My husband dropped me off so I could get a headstart. He filled the car up with gas and sat out in the car with his crossword puzzle while I shopped. I was done in a jiffy and we made it back home a bit after noon. Quickest trip there and back ever!
Knowing I was going to be Cabin-Bound for a while, I reckoned it couldn’t be a better time to get started on a jigsaw puzzle. We talked about it on the way home, so my husband set out as soon as we got home to rig up another overhead light to make my jig-sawing a finer experience. By the time he was finished, and I was caught up on laundry, I began sorting through 1000 pieces in search of the border pieces. My big round table holds 1000 pieces just right. I bought the puzzle awhile back at Latitude (I think), it’s a doozy!

Church over here, up the street, on Saturday night. Got to see the piano we’ll receive sometime soon. I cancelled movers for Saturday due to weather. Hopefully, they can fit us in this week. Our son-in-law will be at the Friendswood house all week getting stuff done. So, he’ll be there to accept the piano. Next on the agenda will be to find someone to get it tuned and up to snuff for 3 sweet Grands. I’m looking forward to hitting the keys myself, see what I can remember about a keyboard?? If you know a good piano tuner, please let me know.
Oh, I’ve gotta tell y’all what I did Monday morning, really silly the more I think about it …
I was happy there was not a lot of precipitation before it turned so cold and thrilled no standing water Monday morning as I was planning to go to work. Bundled up in my snow boots and a big sweatshirt and my jacket, I jumped in the car and headed up 87 to work. Like I always do every morning, I hit the windshield wipers and sprayed some windshield washer on the windows. BIG MISTAKE! The windows iced up immediately. After all, it was only 26 degrees outside. Duh! I had to pull over, because I couldn’t see out the windshield and waited for it to thaw before I could see my way to work.
Just goes to show ya, many of us are not used to cold weather. It’s Southeast Texas for goodness sakes.
Lesson learned! It’s never to late …
