And the Beat Goes On

We’re all still a-buzz about the wedding. As usual, I had a blast, I love weddings. The music was great, the food fantastic, I made all my grandsons dance with me, even Dax! I guess the next time I’ll get the opportunity, it’ll be at their weddings. Below is a pic of just our family.

I hear there’s more coming, the professional ones.

The party lasted until way after midnight. The bride & groom left to a flurry of sparklers down the long driveway. It was like a fairy tale ending to a beautiful day.

The next morning, by the time we made it over to The Big House, everyone was packing up, vacuuming, tidying up and the porch was full of boxes to be loaded into various vehicles. We all went our separate ways. About 12 of us went to a lovely restaurant in old Conroe for breakfast. Then, it was off to the airport to deliver the Tampa folks for their flight back home.

The newlyweds had a lovely honeymoon in Mexico, they’re back at work as we speak. The Colorado folks went back home after staying in the Houston area for another week after the wedding. PawPaw and I went on home to Maezy (family dog), Buddy (family fish), Ross & Rachel (family parakeets). They’ll miss Aunt Norie, but they seemed happy to see us.

As usual, parting from family is sad but necessary, but as usual, we’ve already made plans for another get-together for a few weeks the end of June and 4th of July weekend. I just found out this morning, they’re planning a crab boil. They think they’ll catch all the crabs we need, but I’ll call Joe in Bolivar just to be sure.

Speaking of crabs, we were invited to a Crab Committee gathering at the Eagles, food provided by Tia’s. As I’ve told you, the Crab Festival is a lot of work, but the recognition and the scholarships and the fun and excitement for all make the whole event worthwhile. You can count me in!
