Last week’s Golf Cart Poker Run was another memorable event, known for its festive spirit and generosity—and this year’s gathering did not disappoint. Thanks to the incredible participation and support of our community, we raised a substantial amount of money for important charitable causes.
However, not all good things come without a hitch. In the excitement of announcing the winners, an oversight occurred. This year’s top poker award was initially presented to Brandon Mitchum for an impressive hand of four Aces. What we failed to recognize at the time was that, with multiple decks in play, a five-of-a-kind is possible—and Deana Jones held an unbeatable hand of five Kings, which should have rightfully claimed first place.
The GCPR organizers sincerely apologize for this mistake. We’ve since corrected the error and presented Deana with the Best Poker Hand award she deserved. Both Brandon and Deana have been incredibly gracious, and we deeply appreciate their understanding.
Thank you to everyone who made this event a success, and we’ll take extra care in the future to ensure all winners are properly recognized. Mistakes happen, but what truly matters is the spirit of fun, generosity, and community that defines the Golf Cart Poker Run.
See you next year—with even better odds of getting it right the first time!
