Well, it’s over for another year. What am I talking about, we really only have like a 2-3 month rest before we start all over again.
Every year we sweat the rain, all week long people told us about the reports of No Rain. Oh, we were so excited. After all, we already got rain on Sunday and Monday of last week. Right? Then, here we go, the rain didn’t let us down.
Friday morning, it rained Cats & Dogs. David sent us a picture that morning of the grounds, totally flooded. We were distraught. You plan a party for over 8000 people and this happens. “Where are those boots?” Yeah, the boots I wore last time the Crab Festival flooded.
Our vendors are troopers though, everyone sloshing through the muck, Off to Seaside to purchase plywood to lay down in their booths. Then somebody donated hay to spread around the grounds. Then, the sun came out and the wind picked up and by Saturday morning, everything was drying out, even inside The Big Tent.
I’ll go into more detail when I have all my pictures arranged. I had to go to work on Monday and I’m a bit frayed, so I’ll continue onto bigger and better things next week. Hope you’ll tune in again.
I saw most of you out there, but if you didn’t make it to the 40th Texas Crab Festival this past weekend, you missed a really good show.
Thanks for coming!
