Full Moon?

Now I’ve seen it all! Coming home from shopping on Saturday, noticing the cars were still heading south off the ferry, I hurried on in hopes of catching IT. I cautiously pulled out as far as I could in hopes the ferry attendant would see me in the Medical Boarding Lane to wave me on. I was the last one allowed on the ferry. The driver parked in front of me had to inch a bit forward for me to fit. We sat there for a while, I got Theo ready to continue reading when all of a sudden, the ferry attendant was motioning me to back off the ferry so the guy in front of me could get off. What the heck??

As I carefully backed off, the ferry attendant said, “don’t worry ma’am, we’ll get you back on.” It seems the guy in front of me had just changed his mind … “That’s a first for me,” I said to the ferry attendant as I was pulling back on. He said, “Me Too!”

I think of all the times I’ve seen people ride across in their cars and turn around immediately to get back on. But this is the first time I’ve seen someone actually exit the boat before it ever takes off.

Hey, what about this little cool front? Blows my theory about the first cool front always happening on Halloween night. If we thought Merry was frisky before, you should see her with some chilly weather. I wonder if it reminds her of January in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, when she was born.

Speaking of Merry, she’s had her cousin, Knight, visiting for the week. I’ll bet he can’t wait for his humans to come pick him up when they return from NYC. These two wear each other out which is a great thing for us! They’ll rest for a bit, then they’re right back at it.

Golden Retriever and Black Lab

We went across the pond on Sunday to the ArtoberFest in Galveston. It’s an annual thing we haven’t missed in many years. Saw several of our Crab Fest vendors over there and managed to promise invitations to a few more. I was surprised to find out these vendors are invited to participate.

We had a really fun get together earlier in the week before the sisters and Kevin took off on their Halloween cruise. About nine relatives and friends came over for dinner, my chicken spaghetti and Rick made an authentic Italian salad with his own dressing. All was devoured! Then we had birthday cake; a vanilla pound cake with chocolate glaze and Blue Bell ice cream cups. This was a combination Christmas/Birthday party. Three birthdays and leftover Christmas, gifts that we never got around to opening from 2025. Then, we decided to go ahead and give Liz her birthday gift since hers is December 17.

Needless to say, when Monday finally arrived, I was more than ready for a little rest and relaxation.
