Surface water temperature is 81 degrees. Most of the week we have once again focused our efforts back in the marsh on slot redfish. The super high morning tides have allowed us to fish areas we normally cannot venture back into, and it has worked out.
We have been using light colored paddle tails with 1/8 oz heads or rigged weedless depending upon where the fish are positioning themselves, as well as under a popping cork with a 12” leader when fishing areas with lots of shell. We have had success fishing rocks as well as grass lines with drains, and windblown points when the conditions line up.
We have also had some good days catching specks and sand trout on the reefs, however the winds have kept us off of those of late. We have also found a few Bull Reds pushing shrimp down the grass lines.
The crowds have thinned and the weather is getting right, so now is the time to book your fall and winter trips and get out and enjoy all the upper Texas Coast has to offer.
