Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation (BPCF) presented their annual wine tasting event on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Diana, David and Coco Ezzell hosted a sparkling party. Marsha Fredenburg and Elinor Tinsley were co-captains. Tom Harrison and Dennis Rollfing directed drivers to safe parking spots. Pat Tinsley greeted attendees with a choice of Prosecco or sparkling grape or apple juice. Victoria Norris and Amy Lail, assisted by Amy’s mom Sandra and Aunt Patsy, cheerfully signed folk in and handed out name tags.
A banquet of beauty welcomed guests. Flower arrangements, sparkling fairy lights, and tastefully decorated tables were treats in themselves. Laughter filled the air as guests mingled with friends and made new ones among these gracious settings. Some ventured outside to a charming porch and enjoyed the view along our Intracoastal Canal. Others eagerly surveyed a cornucopia of aromatic foods. Elinor Tinsley welcomed all and announced when it was time to, “Fill your plates”. Everyone quickly, and politely of course, followed her directions. With dishes piled high with delicacies, everyone headed to the tables. Many went back for second and third helpings.
Diana Ezzell designed the clever place mats for the tables; Jana Kelm printed them; Elinor Tinsley cut them out. Every mat displayed the six types of wines to be tasted. Servers made sure to place wines on the designated spots. White wines were represented with two Chardonnays and one Pinot Grigio. Three reds consisted of 2 Cabernets and one Malbec with two ports with dessert. Oh yes! Desserts – of those delectables there were plenty. You could have as many as you wished.
Elinor announced the names of the Door Prize winners: A $100 Island Liquor gift card was won by Dennis Rollfing. Marie Butler won a $50 gift card to Tia Juanita’s and a bottle of Pinot Grigio was won by Bob Morgan to give to sister Sherry Morgan. And, at each table, the guest with a special marking on the back of their place mat took home the floral centerpiece.
Oh, what a night it was indeed. Elinor graciously thanked the people who helped create this magical evening. An evening filled with LIGHTS, LAUGHTER, FOOD and WINE!
