The Annual Crystaland Christmas Parade returned to Crystal Beach this past weekend, bringing with it a wave of holiday cheer and a reminder of why this event remains one of the Peninsula’s most beloved traditions.
Hosted by the Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, the parade took place under pleasantly cool weather, creating a perfect backdrop for an evening of celebration. Festively decorated golf carts, vehicles, and floats sparkled with holiday lights and creative decorations, filling the beach with color, music, and Christmas spirit.
Buzzing with excitement. participants began lining up early at the Crystal Beach Fire Station, putting finishing touches on decorations as they prepared for the evening ahead. By 6:00 pm, the parade was ready to roll.
Led by a Galveston County Sheriff’s car and a fire truck, the parade made its way down the beach where crowds lined the sand to cheer and wave. Families gathered with blankets and chairs, children eagerly watching for Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with the many enthusiastic parade participants.
After completing its route down the beach, the parade returned along the same path back to the Crystal Beach Fire Station. There, the celebration continued as children were invited to visit with Santa, sharing wishes and enjoying the moment. Attendees were also treated to hot dogs and chips, generously sponsored by The Lighthouse Krewe.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Crenshaw School youth choir performed several familiar Christmas tunes, filling the area with holiday music that had many in the crowd singing along.
Awards were presented for the best decorated golf carts, vehicles, and floats, recognizing the creativity and effort of participants. Additional business lighting awards honored local businesses that helped brighten the Peninsula throughout the holiday season.
From start to finish, the Annual Crystaland Christmas Parade delivered fun for all ages. It is an event many on the Bolivar Peninsula look forward to each year, and once again, it brought neighbors together to celebrate the season, the community, and the joy of Christmas in Crystal Beach.
