Construction on the new Rollover Pass Pier is moving forward, with the project expected to open to the public by July 2026. Over the next year, crews will work through several key phases to complete this exciting Bolivar Peninsula attraction.
Summer 2025, heavy construction will dominate the site. Workers will drive foundation pilings deep into the ground to support the structure, then build walkway bridges and install sturdy structural supports to ensure the pier can withstand Gulf Coast weather conditions. During this phase, expect to see plenty of construction activity and heavy equipment on site.
As the project enters late 2025 and early 2026, the focus will shift to adding important amenities and finishing touches. Crews will install lighting along the pier for night fishing and safety, set up convenient fish cleaning stations, and complete the parking area. Environmental protections will also take shape during this time, including systems to preserve the nearby dunes and shoreline.
The final product, scheduled to open around July 2026, will offer something for everyone. Anglers can look forward to excellent fishing spots along the pier, while others can enjoy scenic walks over the water with beautiful Gulf views. The surrounding park area will be perfect for picnics and relaxing by the coast.
When completed, the new Rollover Pass Pier will combine modern infrastructure with the natural beauty of the Texas coast, creating a destination that honors the area’s fishing heritage while providing improved facilities for future generations. The construction team will continue providing updates as the project progresses toward its 2026 opening.
