Typical January Day – so it’s chili and puzzles

What else do you on a frigid day like this? Well, other than making chili, I decided to start a puzzle. Come to think of it, I guess it’s been two years since we dragged out the puzzle table. Probably because I haven’t bought a new puzzle in a long time. This year, a friend gave us one for Christmas. I’ve been dying to get started. I have plenty that I’ve worked before, but it’s like reading a book twice, it’s just not as fun as the first time.

My husband isn’t usually into puzzling as much as I am, but as we speak, he’s in there finding the two border pieces I couldn’t. Once I get this written, I’ll feel a bit caught up enough to go continue working on it.

A special treat tonight, blackberry cobbler. Hopefully, I won’t goof up on the recipe. Last time I made blackberry cobbler, I didn’t read the instructions carefully, I used half the flour. Put the whole thing together and it came out like blackberry soup. I’ll be more careful tonight.

This cold weather is miserable. I’m usually very fond of cold weather, but I can’t seem to get warmed up. Yesterday afternoon, I pretended like I was going to go snuggle down in bed to read. I got all comfy under my new quilt, started reading, but before I knew it, I got so drowsy, I had to turn off the light and take a snooze. Woke up two hours later. I think it’s that dang quilt!

I’ve resisted the nap today. Probably because of the puzzle.

Have a good week, stay warm, stay inside. Rest assured, Entergy is out there, ready to jump into action if we lose power. Aren’t they amazing!!!
